There are no mandatory restrictions in place in connection with COVID-19. At St James’ we take seriously our responsibility in connection with COVID-19 and all aspects of public health. Vicar, churchwardens, and members of the PCC (Parochial Church Council) regularly review risk assessments as required. We will communicate any changes in a timely manner.
Our regular pattern of Sunday worship includes an in-person Eucharist at 10am in St James’ church and an online service of the word at 3pm via Zoom.
If you do not currently receive emails from St James’ church and would like to receive emails with details for joining our online worship, please do email the Vicar, Julia Babb, and she will include you in the email group so that you get regular emails and information. ( juliabbabb@icloud.com )
We will keep this page updated with the latest guidelines, and with information about what the guidelines mean for worship and activities. Please do check this page regularly.
We are here to support each other and our community. That support begins with following the public health guidance that is intended to help us to keep each other safe and ensure the wellbeing of our community. And it includes supporting each other spiritually, pastorally and practically through the telephone chain and WhatsApp group that we have established. We continue to collect for Newcastle Food Bank and to work with partners through Newcastle South Locality Action Partnership as we support and serve our wider community.
We also support each other and keep in touch via our Facebook page. We regularly post local information, prayers and other resources. Please do follow St James’ Facebook page and share the posts more widely.
Please visit the Church of England website and the NHS website for additional information and resources in connection with public health.
